Team Manager : Cathy Cahoon

My team manager, an amazing woman, is also my loving life partner. Cathy grew up sailing on the Pamlico Sound and Neuse River of North Carolina. We spent many years exploring the mountain ranges of the western US together. She now works in natural resource conservation and enjoys adventuring in the mountains around Lake Tahoe.
Cathy is instrumental in organizing my various Visas and entry requirements for the different stopovers. She will also serve as my primary safety contact while at sea during the event, being my shore crw for logistics, as well as the liaison between myself, emergency responders, and race coordinators.
Machinist / Fabricator:
Josh Strathern
My best friend of over 25 years Josh is a skilled machine tool operator and welder fabricator. He works as an ABYC Certified Marine Technician on yachts up to 120’ and runs a fabrication job shop out of his workshop at home. When not restoring old machines and maintaining his classic vehicles he enjoys spending time with his two huskies as well as doing various bespoke fabrication jobs for discerning customers.
Josh’s role in the project (besides allowing me to thrash his shop building a boat) is to help with any shaping, drilling, welding and machining various parts for the boat. He milled the bevels into the keel plate with expert precision, welded up the reinforcement structure for the skeg, and drilled the holes in the lead for the keel bulbs to exact standards.
The project simply would not have been possible without his help and expertise.
